Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, sound judgment, and the ability to independently diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
A valid Journeyman card is required.
Core Responsibilities
Diagnose complex equipment issues using observation, testing, and technical knowledge
Perform mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical repairs
Disassemble, repair, and rebuild production machinery and components
Fabricate or modify parts using shop equipment (lathe, mill, drill press, grinder)
Interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals
Troubleshoot PLC-related issues and support electrical diagnostics
Execute preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life
Validate repairs through testing and performance verification
Coordinate parts procurement and maintain accurate maintenance records
What We’re Looking For
Journeyman certification in an approved trade (required)
5+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Proven ability to troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems independently
Working knowledge of electrical systems and PLC troubleshooting
Experience with machining, welding (arc), and equipment fabrication
Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
A self-directed work style with strong accountability and attention to detail
Valid Driver’s License
Education
Technical degree or equivalent real-world experience
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Active industrial setting with exposure to moving machinery and equipment
Occasional exposure to heights, chemicals, and electrical systems
Frequent standing, walking, lifting, and use of tools
Lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and 100 lbs. occasionally
